I'd rather that instead of burning dosh they spend it. If not on themselves then others. Maybe build a well or two in sub Saharan Africa or something. Or hire a good producer so they can make some decent tunes.

They could maybe buy you a new pair of ears instead?

I never had a problem with their music... But anyone who burns a million quid (for whatever reason) needs to have a word wi themselves ffs.
Give it to a charity or something... But burn it??? . As I said, Wallopers.... Imo

How about that for a convoluted, pretentious review. They were just a electronic pop band ffs.

Mansun, on the other hand. Used the £25,000 advance to make the "Taxloss" video by throwing it off a concourse in Liverpool Street Station during rush-hour and filming the chaos of commuters as they collected up the money.

Here's to the first of the day, fellas! To old D.H. Lawrence.

The video for Taxloss is, however, the best music video ever. Money well spent.
The guys from KLF were as well burning the money, quite an artistic statement. It was only bits of paper. If they had given it to charity it would have only ended up lining some fat cat charity execs nest anyway

Wide Open Space is a bit of a forgotten gem from the mid-90s. If one of the more prominent bands from the era had done it, you would hear it fat more regularly.

So what they did was give it to the BoE and effectively, to the government.

What a bunch of rebels :-/

Mansun were one of my favourite bands during the late 90s. Attack of the grey lantern is an absolute masterpiece. Great to see Paul Draper break the top 20 with his solo album last week too.

A cracking track with an very good remix by Paul Oakenfold and Simon Osborne too. Dance covers of Indie tracks almost always end up a car crash but this one worked.

Indeed - the only version I own of Wide Open Space is the perfecto remix.

Radiohead's Street Spirit is another decent effort. That's probably sacrilege to some though.

The original remix of that was fantastic too but radiohead wouldn't let them release it so they did another "tone by tone" remix that they could legally release and it was brutal which was a shame.
