Red sauce, brown sauce or no sauce
Topic Originator: Number57

Okay I know it is a food topic but it is far too serious a question to be put away in that cupboards underneath the stairs.

Breakfast roll- what is it to be?

Crispy bacon, softish fried egg on top and red sauce.
Used to always be black coffee but strong black tea for me now.
Superb!

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Bacon roll= broon sauce every time

Having said that, I like to dip pizza crusts in salad cream and chips in mayonnaise, so maybe it's just me...

I'm always at the number of weirdos who put red sauce on bacon or any other breakfast product. You surely need a bit of tang, rather than sweetness? Red sauce ruins a breakfast butty.

"food forum for this"

I know it's not your fault Tashman, but there's been more replies to this in the last three quarters of an hour than I've had in 2 months to my last posts on the food forum...

It's the same with music or movie stuff, as has been witnessed recently..

Time to get rid of the unnecessary sub forums neebs...

Anyhoo, do you prefer red or broon sauce and which one blends in better when it's dripping off your tash...? :-)

My general rules are:
- pastry items (pies, pasties, sausage rolls) is tomato sauce
- bacon/egg roll, slicing sausage roll, etc is brown sauce
- black pudding: no sauce, runny egg essential

Agreed. Totally destroys the taste. Why mot just have a broon sauce roll and spare the pig?

Same with milk and sugar in coffee. Once you add those it is no longer "coffee". Instant doesn't count as it is already bogging.

Brown with bacon, red with sausage and no sauce if a runny egg is involved.

Never tried the above but given that brown sauce is made from tomatoes as a base it might be ok. HP sauce hasn't been the same since they were forced to change the recipe IMO but still partake occasionally.

If bacon is smoked go with pepper but without sauce, unsmoked fire some brown on.
Burgers-Tomato sauce

A bit of mustard with ham or roast beef is decent.

Can't remember the name of it but the brown sauce they sell at Dobbies in glass bottles is good(think it's quite expensive though) Was sceptical at first but worth a bash.
