Wonder if the Day the Clown Died will find its way into public viewing now. Meant to be one of one of the worst and most ill advised films ever made and the holy grail of lost movies.

I never found him funny either, but then I was the same with Norman Wisdom who is the closest comparison I can think of... all depends on your sense of humour I suppose..

Nonetheless, he was a quality performer from the old school and had a long and successful career...

For this alone, he should be respected...

I read an article that said 2024 for the Day the Clown Cried at the earliest and that is only if it's released from the Library of Congress vault. He did raise a huge amount of money for charity with his telethons. It was definitely an acquired taste his humour. I did like Pardners which I think was the last but one released with the Martin and Lewis double act.
